CHICAGO, Oct. 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With 11 days left till the election, U.S. of Awesome has launched its "Don't be a Monkey, Vote!" campaign to inspire voters to cast their vote in the upcoming election. To kick off the campaign, U.S. of Awesome has released a light-hearted video that gently ribs those who are not planning on using their right to vote this November.

A video accompanying this release is available at http://www.globenewswire.com/newsroom/prs/?pkgid=15443.

The 90 second video, produced by Gotta Kid to Feed Productions, features a toddler in a monkey costume making his way to the voting booth. Instead of casting his vote, the monkey wrecks the booth. "We wanted to avoid sounding preachy in trying to get people to vote," said U.S. of Awesome co-founder Vasili "Seals" Gerogiannis, "But we also want to drive home the message that voting is crucial for a democracy to function. So, don't be a monkey, be a part of the process!"

In addition to the get out the vote video campaign, U.S. of Awesome recently released its 2012 original design Love to Vote shirts. The "Don't be a Monkey, Vote!" campaign is a continuation of the company's efforts to encourage Americans to vote, which is a hard fought right. It was only in 1920 that women received the right to vote. It was as recent as 1965 that there was the need for a Voting Rights Act, which outlawed discriminatory voting practices. In many parts of the world, true democracy still does not exist.

The company focuses on the commonalities of the American experience through its line of all original, all-American soft cotton and blended t-shirts. U.S. of Awesome offers a fresh take on patriotism while spreading optimism and promoting American craftsmanship. The founders promise that everything that everything they sell is 100% American made.
