Alvarez & Marsal Expands Healthcare Industry Group with Addition of Biopharmaceutical Executive

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal announced that Allan L. Shaw, a biopharmaceutical industry expert, has joined the firm's healthcare industry group as managing director, based in New York.

With more than 20 years of corporate governance and executive, financial leadership and management experience, Mr. Shaw will lead A&M's biopharmaceutical consulting practice. A member of the Central New York-Biotech Research Center's Board of Directors, he previously worked as chief financial officer and executive management board member of Serono International S.A., a global biotechnology company and the largest in Europe. He was also the founder and senior managing director of Shaw Strategic Capital LLC, an international financial advisory firm, focused on providing strategic financial counsel on a wide variety of issues such as general corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital structuring, licensing and capital markets. His clients included a biopharmaceutical licensing / developmental group and an international investment bank, for which he served as a strategic adviser.
