The Center for Hispanic Leadership(CHL), a professional development and consulting firm to Fortune 500 companies will be expanding its powerful message with the addition of Dr. Placida Gallegos to its faculty. Gallegos will lead CHL's Latina training, consulting and executive coaching efforts. Gallegos joins CHL with a successful career as a University professor in the Human and Organizational Development Program at Fielding Graduate University and as an organization consultant for the past twenty-five years. According to CHL Founder Glenn Llopis, “We are delighted to welcome Dr. Gallegos to our team. Her passion, research and experience in the development / advancement of Latinas in the workplace allow CHL to offer an extensive wide range of curriculum programs to assure that the growing Latina audience in America's corporations is reaching their full potential.”

Dr. Gallegos brings an innovative approach to helping Latinas uncover their authentic identity and leadership capabilities to cultivate the under-leveraged talents they bring to organizations. Her dissertation research focused on the emergence and development of Latina leaders in large corporate settings and was entitled “Emerging leadership among Hispanic women: The role of expressive behavior and nonverbal skill”. Dr. Gallegos research has continued to emphasize the unique challenges and opportunities Latinas present to society and the workplace as a whole. Currently, Dr. Gallegos is completing a national research study exploring Latina career development and leadership. The findings of this study will be relevant to Latinas themselves and organizations that are interested in better utilizing their expertise, relationship skills and leadership abilities. Dr. Gallegos will be leading CHL's Latina training program titled, Latina Advancement in the Workplace: Redefining Success & Achieving our Cultural Promise.
