Participant Media’s Social Action Campaign for New Film Furry Vengeance, Brings Wildlife and Habitat Preservation to Classrooms Nationwide

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

For the upcoming comedy Furry Vengeance, opening nationwide on April 30th, Participant Media’s social action campaign will focus on bringing the message of wildlife and habitat preservation to over 16,000 schools – approximately half a million students around the country. Teamed with Summit Entertainment and the award-winning curriculum specialists at Young Minds Inspired (YMI), Participant created a free educational program designed to teach 3rd – 5th grade pupils about the effects of every day decisions on our environment.

Said John Schreiber, Executive Vice President of Social Action & Advocacy for Participant Media, “With our Social Action Campaign for Furry Vengeance, we are taking the message of the film into the classrooms in order to encourage kids to think critically before making choices in their communities that could threaten and endanger wildlife and habitats, and to inspire a new generation of wildlife activists.”

Four activities based on National Standards in language arts, science, and geography present compelling ecological concepts based on the funny and thought-provoking context of the film and challenge students to get involved in issues that matter, using suggestions and resources offered by the National Wildlife Federation, the Endangered Species Coalition, and Defenders of Wildlife. A classroom poster illustrating action points, stickers to reward activity completion, paperwork certifying class adoption of an endangered species, information about an art contest to help celebrate Endangered Species Day in May, and a take-home booklet to encourage family involvement are also included.

Summit Entertainment and Participant Media in association with Imagination Abu Dhabi present Furry Vengeance, a hilarious new film for the family starring Brendan Fraser as a real estate developer whose latest project threatens habitats of local forest creatures. The woodland critters, who don't want their homes disturbed, seek comical revenge by turning a peaceful neighborhood into a battlefield of epic proportions. Written by Michael Carnes & Josh Gilbert, produced by Robert Simonds and Keith Goldberg and directed by Roger Kumble.
