Hilltop Securities Inc. Public Finance Director Marti Shew was recently recognized by The Bond Buyer as one of the municipal bond industry's 24 Rising Stars.

The Rising Star program was launched earlier this year "to identify municipal finance professionals under the age of 40 who have demonstrated leadership skills, are excellent collaborators, have displayed innovation and creativity in approaching their job, and have made positive contributions to the community," according to The Bond Buyer.

Ms. Shew joined FirstSouthwest, a division of HilltopSecurities, in 2004 and specializes in providing financial advice and implementing the planning and financing of debt for local governments. She has structured more than 200 financings totaling more than $2 billion for a variety of issuers including cities, counties, public and private universities, hospitals and water districts. In addition, she is the Dallas area event chair for the Texas Chapter of Women in Public Finance and served on that organization's board from 2013 to 2015.
