Insight School of Minnesota Students Start New Academic Year September 12

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Insight School of Minnesota (ISMN), an accredited online public school for students in grades 6 through 12, will begin the 2016-2017 school year on September 12. ISMN possesses a unique competency in helping students who are struggling academically due to obstacles such as learning or behavioral issues, bullying, or a lack of effective alternatives.

"Our mission is to help students who are trying to get back on track," said John Huber, Head of School at ISMN. "Setbacks in education can happen for a multitude of reasons. Students can lose confidence after failing a course, missing many school days, or going through a social experience that makes them feel unsafe at school. Our program is designed to help these students overcome the issues that have hindered them from reaching their goals."

With a highly supportive approach, ISMN teachers and counselors work with students and their families to help them achieve success, both academically and personally. The online curriculum is bolstered by a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program and the attention of a Family Support Team, which works with students and their families to provide the extra help needed to enable students to stay motivated and on track.

ISMN is tuition-free and available to students who live anywhere in Minnesota. The school offers flexibility in the instructional program tailored to each student's specific needs. A wide variety of high school courses are offered to help assure that each student is taught at the right level. ISMN also provides targeted remediation sessions to build specific skills. ISMN teachers provide instruction and support, interacting with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, and phone.

Daily structure and lessons are provided through a stimulating online school environment. The online education model allows students to attend classes from home, where they can focus on their studies without distractions or peer pressure. ISMN teachers and counselors strive to form a partnership with each student's Learning Coach (usually the parent or guardian) in order to closely monitor the student's progress and identify areas that need more one-on-one attention.

ISMN is still accepting enrollments for the 2016-2017 school year. For more information on the school and how to apply, visit: www.MN.insightschools.net.
