NIKE Makes Management Changes

NIKE, Inc. NKE revealed general management appointments to drive continued innovation, as well as strong consumer connections globally. As part of it, the company named Phil McCartney, VP and GM of Nike Footwear, effective June 1. McCartney has 19 years of experience in geographies and multiple categories in the company and would continue to work with category teams, product development, design, and merchandising.

Nike's President, Trevor Edwards, commented, "We are pleased to elevate a proven and strong bench of leaders across our organization to drive innovation, advance our brand and accelerate our integrated marketplace strategies."

The company said its current VP, GM of Emerging Markets, Tom Peddie, is appointed to the role of VP, GM of Integrated Marketplace North America, effective July 1. Peddie has driven strong growth across the Emerging Markets and now will take an elevated leadership role in driving a holistic integrated marketplace strategy in North America.

Similarly, it named Ann Hebert as VP, GM of Emerging Markets, beginning July 1. Hebert has served in key management positions in DTC, Sales, Category, and Merchandising and would continue to elevate and create separation in the marketplace.

Nike also disclosed that Christophe Merkel was hired as VP, GM of Nike Japan. He is GM of Turkey currently and would lead the team to continue driving strong consumer connections in this important market. His appointment is effective July 1.

Additionally, the company's GM of Japan, Jim Reynolds, has been named VP, GM of Athletic Specialty, effective June 2016. Reynolds led strong business growth in Japan and would now focus on driving its integrated marketplace tactics against Athletic Specialty globally.
