WellCare Names Rubel State President, Nebraska

TAMPA, Fla., April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. WCG, a leading provider of managed care services for government-sponsored health care programs, announced today that it named Lauralie Rubel state president, Nebraska, effective April 4, 2016. Under Rubel's leadership, WellCare will serve members of Heritage Health, Nebraska's new integrated Medicaid managed care program that will combine physical health, behavioral health, and pharmacy programs under a single coordinated delivery system to improve health outcomes for the state's most vulnerable residents. Nearly 230,000 Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollees will be served by the new Heritage Health program, which is expected to launch on Jan. 1, 2017, pending regulatory approvals.

She also served as the vice president of provider strategy, vice president of market initiatives for the launch of the company's Medicaid business in Kentucky, chief operating officer for Atlanta and north Georgia, and vice president of training. Prior to WellCare, Rubel held leadership roles at UHS-Pruitt Corporation, Humana and Covenant Health.

Rubel attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and holds a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College, Greeneville, Tennessee.
