MELBOURNE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Harris Corporation HRS has received the 2016 Industry Award from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA) for its significant contributions to engineering education at universities across the U.S.

Harris was recognized for its broad-based support for electrical and computer engineering (ECE) students, faculty and curriculum. The company has participated in numerous initiatives with ECE departments from 22 schools across the country. These include sponsored research projects for undergraduates and graduates, representation on ECE Advisory Boards, support for senior design projects and scholarships, among others.

ECEDHA is comprised of the heads or chairs of departments offering accredited programs in ECE. Its mission is to help advance these fields and to improve communications within the profession and with industry and government.
