Aviat Closes $2.9 Million Deal with Leading Utility in Northeast USA

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc. AVNW, the leading expert in microwave networking solutions, today announced it has closed a $2.9 million deal with a leading electric and gas utility in the Northeast USA. For this project, Aviat will deliver a complete turnkey installation featuring its Eclipse IRU 600 EHP radio, the most powerful microwave radio commercially available at +39 dBm to ensure the highest reliability, smallest antennas and lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). As part of the agreement, Aviat will provide all design, engineering and deployment services.

Aviat will provide a microwave solution that will stretch across an entire state from north to south, providing up to 1Gbps wireless broadband-grade connectivity. The radio's hybrid TDM/IP functionality ensures mission critical services such as Teleprotection, are delivered with the highest quality throughout the utility's network migration.
