Barnes & Noble Makes Major Donation to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in New York City and Reno, NV

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the nation's largest retail bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced a major donation to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in both New York City and Reno, NV. The combined donation features more than $350,000 worth of merchandise, comprising 22 pallets and approximately 10,000 units of products at each location. The donation includes a handpicked selection of books, puzzles, plush toys, board games, electronic games, infant toys and many more fun and educational toys and games.

The Reno donation took place on Monday, December 7, with all of the products coming from the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center in Reno. In addition to Marine Toys for Tots coordinators, the Nevada National Guard and the Reno Sherriff's Department were on hand to unload the truck and distribute the donation to families in need. "Barnes & Noble has a big presence in Reno, so we're thrilled that they decided to support our community with a major donation," said Jon Yuspa, founder of the Nevada Honor Flight. "We know that local families are going to really appreciate this."

Barnes & Noble donated to the New York City Toys for Tots foundation on Wednesday, December 9, with all of the products coming from the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center in Monroe, NJ. A team of Marines was on hand to unload the truck at a Marine base in Brooklyn, where it was quickly categorized and sent out to charities and families in need across the city. "Once again Barnes & Noble has come through to support us in a big way. This donation will help us in our mission to ensure that every child in New York City has a book or a toy under the tree this holiday season," said Staff Sergeant Juan C.
