"LLS is incredibly thankful to Washington Gas for their continued support and dedication to Light The Night and our mission to find blood cancer cures," said Beth Gorman, Executive Director, National Capital Area Chapter. "They have fully engaged their employees, business partners, family and friends in their efforts, helping them to reach this amazing milestone which has contributed to life-saving research, and positively impacted patients and their families over the past 15 years."

Washington Gas, a WGL company, first supported the Light The Night Walk in 2000, in memory of the company's president and COO who lost his battle to leukemia earlier that year. Participation within the company has grown each year. Doug Staebler, Senior Vice President, Utility Operations, for Washington Gas has served as the event's Walk Chair in 2010 and 2011, and continues to serve on the Executive committee today, engaging corporate partners to join LLS in finding cures not someday, but today. With passionate support and involvement at all levels of the company, Washington Gas has truly made an impact on the lives of cancer patients.

"Washington Gas is proud to support LLS's Light The Night Walk, and we are thrilled to have reached this milestone in support of the 1.2 million people affected by blood cancers in North America," said Staebler. "We are committed to making a difference in the communities we serve, and LLS's mission is well aligned with our organization's values."

The final 2015 Light The Night Walk will take place on Saturday, October 17 at Washington, DC's Freedom Plaza. Registration is available online through Friday, October 16, at www.lightthenight.org/nca or at the Walk site beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
