Regency Centers Corporation REG, a national owner, operator, and developer of grocery-anchored shopping centers, has announced the acquisition of University Commons for $80.5 million. This 180,000 square foot center - located in Boca Raton, Florida - is currently 100% leased.
Anchored by one of the highest-trafficked Whole Foods Markets in the country, University Commons' merchandising mix showcases a best-in-class tenant line-up, including Nordstrom Rack and Bed Bath & Beyond, along with a collection of successful restaurants including J. Alexander's, P.F. Chang's, Mario's Osteria, and Shake Shack.
"University Commons is a trophy asset that we are extremely excited about," began Scott Porter, vice president of transactions for Regency Centers. "It's rare that you find a property with its mixture of fundamental retail drivers; the proximity to a very high volume mall, adjacent to I-95, located in an affluent and densely populated market, while also being located directly across from a large university campus. This asset is poised to continue to operate at a very high-level."
