Savari's Technology, Fuelling, and Xerox VPDS Demonstrations at the University of Michigan's Grand Opening of MCity

Savari, an affiliate member of MCity, is pleased to announce the use of its V2X products in the demonstrations at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor starting July 20, 2015. MCity is slated to be the largest test site for connected and automated vehicles in the world.

The Mobility Transformation Center has participation from large automotive OEM and Tier I suppliers in addition to infrastructure providers, insurance companies and technology providers. The key charter is to implement a connected and automated mobility system on the streets of Southeastern Michigan by 2021. As a way of providing a test bed for consumer behavior and explore market opportunities in the near future, MCity is expected to deploy V2X solutions in more than 20,000 cars, trucks and buses across Southeastern Michigan. Savari's V2X products are being utilized in key demonstrations in collaboration with Xerox. 

Xerox has launched their Vehicle Passenger Detection System™, a HOV/HOT lane compliancy detection system that uses Xerox video analytics to determine whether a vehicle is HOV/HOT compliant or not. "We were able to utilize Savari's DSRC enabled technology to provide a seamless way to notify the drivers regarding the approval status from the infrastructure. We see the ability to support in-vehicle signage as a potentially high-value use of DSRC," said Joe Averkamp, senior director, technology, policy, and strategy for Xerox transportation.
