Jarden Corp. (JAH) gains on buying Waddington Group

Jarden Corp. JAH shares gained 4.5% to $54.66. The company has agreed to purchase disposable-tableware maker the Waddington Group in a cash-and-stock deal, which also includes bank debt and bonds, valued at $1.35 billion. The deal for the Waddington Group, which is owned by Olympus Partners, is slated to close in the third quarter. Share volume was 305,000, compared to an all-day average of 340,000
