Alcoa AA shares settled 4% to $10.62. The aluminum maker is projected to report second-quarter earnings of 23 cents a share, according to a consensus from a survey by FactSet. The aluminum producer earned 18 cents a share a year ago. Share volume was 2.1 million , compared to an all-day average of 4.3 million.
