Goldcorp Skyrocketing On Solid Earnings, Dividend Raise (GG)

is jumping today, gaining nearly 6% after the gold miner reported strong quarterly earnings, and increased its dividend 100%. After the bell yesterday, Goldcorp said it earned 63 cents per share on revenues of $885.8 million. These results beat analysts estimates. It also said it would be moving its annual dividend to 36 cents, up from 18 cents. "Our confidence in the Company's financial position and ability to generate strong future cash flows led us to announce a 100% increase in our dividend," CEO Chuck Jeannes said. At last check, shares of Goldcorp were up $2.47 to $44.55.
