Allstate Offers Military Veterans Unique Job Opportunities

Insurer offers California military veterans access to free job-training program

SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- To honor those who have fought for our country, Allstate Insurance Company is offering a unique job-training program for California's military veterans and active National Guard and Reserve members. The program includes training in insurance and financial services with the potential for job placement in a local Allstate agency office.

The program is available to military veterans who have been honorably discharged, as well as active members of the National Guard and Reserves, and provides the opportunity to be trained as a licensed sales professional.

The training program consists of a self-paced virtual education course to prepare for the California Property and Casualty insurance licensing exam, followed by a completion bonus when the exam is passed. The program also offers job placement training to help candidates prepare for an interview with an Allstate agency owner. While there are currently many job openings for licensed sales professionals at Allstate agencies, candidates are not required to commit to accepting a job in an Allstate agency.

Licensed sales professionals are employees of the agency and not of Allstate Insurance Company or its affiliates. Licensed agency staff members work with agency owners to sell insurance, provide customer service to customers and build strong relationships within the community. The ideal candidate cares about protecting people, is disciplined, dependable, goal-oriented and trustworthy.

"This unique training program helps veterans transition from serving our country to serving customers," said John Stolte, Regional Field Sales Leader for Allstate in California.  "While it's our hope that these veterans join the Allstate family after the four-week training, what is most important to us is honoring America's heroes. This is Allstate's way of thanking and supporting these individuals after their military service has ended."

Applications for California military veterans are currently being accepted through http://allstateveterans.com/ or by calling an Allstate talent representative at (800) 710-0887.

"I am very proud to have dedicated part of my life to protecting my country," says Alfonso Padillo, an Allstate agency owner and U.S. Army veteran whose son, Eduardo, is also a veteran and an agency owner. "If you are used to being in the military you already have the mentality that you are helping people. As an agency owner I get to help people with protecting their belongings. Coming into this line of work is a natural fit for veterans."

The Allstate Corporation ALL is the nation's largest publicly held personal lines insurer, protecting approximately 16 million households from life's uncertainties through auto, home, life and other insurance offered through its Allstate, Encompass, Esurance and Answer Financial brand names.
