Ixia and Louisiana State University's Stephenson Disaster Management Institute Partner to Further Cyber Security Resilience

Ixia XXIA, a leading provider of application performance and security resilience solutions, announced its partnership with LSU's Stephenson Disaster Management Institute, or SDMI. This joint Cyber Security Initiative proposes to initiate solutions for an under-developed subject area of severe vulnerability.

SDMI's unique capabilities make it possible to connect key cyber participants, such as the federal government, private industry, universities, businesses and critical infrastructure providers through public, private and academic partnerships. The organization's mission is to save the lives of people and animals by continuously improving disaster resiliency through leadership in applied research and executive education. • Analysis of cyber attacks and effective defenses: Ixia and SDMI plan to provide information to users of vulnerable systems to increase the reliability of critical information systems.
• Establishing best practices and improve cyber security preparedness: With a focus on protecting critical infrastructure, Ixia and SDMI intend to develop and share best practices, as well as train security response teams to achieve cyber security resilience with the use of state-of-the-art cyber range facilities.
• Increasing cyber security awareness: Educational activities including quarterly online public webcasts, ongoing research and educational whitepapers will help organizations improve cyber security awareness.
• Bringing together public/private sector expertise: Ixia and SDMI's multi-year collaboration brings together the expertise needed to develop fast and effective responses to cyber threats.
