CD Rates Held Steady

TheStreet and RateWatch Report Top National & Regional CD Rate Issuers

NEW YORK, April 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- RateWatch, a premier banking data and analytics service owned by TheStreet, Inc. TST reported today that national averages for CD rates of all durations this week remained unchanged as the Federal Reserve continued to keep the short-term federal funds rate at a range of zero to 0.25% since late 2008.

TheStreet and RateWatch Report Top CD Rate Issuers.

"CD rates stayed the same over the past week," said Scott Gamm, TheStreet Economics Reporter. "Consumers still seem reluctant to spend the money saved from low gas prices, as illustrated in Tuesday's March retail sales data from the Commerce Department. This could prompt the Federal Reserve to hold off on an early summer rate hike, that some economists had anticipated."
