Manning & Napier, Inc. Appoints Ebrahim Busheri as Director of Investments

Manning & Napier, Inc. MN, ("Manning & Napier" or "the Company") today announced the appointment of Ebrahim Busheri as Director of Investments. Ebrahim will assume day-to-day management of Manning & Napier's Research department, reporting to Patrick Cunningham, Manning & Napier's Chief Executive Officer. Founded in 1970, Manning & Napier has always been committed to a disciplined, team-based approach that emphasizes our investment strategies and pricing disciplines, and Ebrahim's appointment is a reaffirmation of the Company's commitment to those core principles while remaining nimble with its decision-making process.

Ebrahim has over 26 years of experience as a professional investor and has a long history with Manning & Napier, having been part of the Company's Research department from 1988 through 2001, serving in various leadership roles including Director of Research and Head of the Technology and Consumer Groups. From 2001 through 2007, Ebrahim worked at W.P. Stewart & Co. in a variety of roles, including Director of Investments. He also spent time as a consultant at Heritage Capital before returning to Manning & Napier in 2011. Since his return, Ebrahim has focused his efforts on stock selection and mentoring younger analysts. He has a unique background, which includes a strong understanding of the culture and processes that are important to Manning & Napier, as well as valuable experience in research leadership positions outside of the firm.

Jeff Coons, who served as Co-Director of Research for the past 12 years, will continue in his role as President. Jeff will work closely with Ebrahim in order to facilitate a seamless transition and will maintain his position as a key point of contact for clients and partners. Jeff Herrmann, the Company's other Co-Director of Research, will assume responsibility for the Company's energy sector holdings and will focus on the day-to-day execution of the firm's strategies and disciplines. Both individuals will remain on the firm's Senior Research Group, along with Ebrahim and two other senior individuals. This Group will continue to oversee the Company's investment processes and disciplines, with direct management of portfolios conducted by the Company's various portfolio management teams.
