Tetra Tech Wins $216 Million USAID Gender Equity Contract

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Tetra Tech, Inc. TTEK announced today it has been awarded a $216 million indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the implementation of USAID's program, the Promoting Gender Equity in National Priority Programs Project (PROMOTE) in Afghanistan. USAID has committed $216 million, and other donors can contribute up to an additional $200 million. PROMOTE represents a commitment by the U.S. Government and Afghan Government to solidify the gains made by Afghan women over the last decade. The objectives of PROMOTE will continue the previous investment to educate young women, helping them to become decision-makers and leaders during this next critical transformation phase in Afghanistan.

Under this multiple-award contract, Tetra Tech has won the first task order for $42 million to support women's leadership development within Afghanistan's largest cities which will serve as hubs to reach out to many eligible beneficiaries in all Afghan provinces. Tetra Tech and its Afghan partners will support USAID to enable Afghan women to acquire, and over time, apply advanced management and leadership skills in public, private and civil service sectors careers.
