A Peek Into The Markets: U.S. Stock Futures Mixed Ahead Of Consumer Credit Data

Pre-open movers

U.S. stock futures traded mixed in early pre-market trade. The labor market conditions index for June is schedule for release at 10:00 a.m. ET, while data on consumer credit for May will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET. San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President John C. Williams is set to speak in Sydney, New South Wales at 11:05 p.m. ET.

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 18 points to 21,355.00, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures rose 0.75 points to 2,424.25. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 16.25 points to 5,671.75.

Oil prices traded lower as Brent crude futures fell 1.05 percent to trade at $46.22 per barrel, while US WTI crude futures dropped 1.06 percent to trade at $43.76 a barrel.

A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.19 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index rising 0.30 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.43 percent. The UK's FTSE index was trading lower by 0.01 percent, while French CAC 40 Index rose 0.25 percent.

In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.76 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index climbed 0.63 percent, China’s Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.17 percent and India’s BSE Sensex rose 1.13 percent.

Analysts at UBS upgraded Whole Foods Market, Inc. WFM from Sell to Neutral.

Whole Foods shares rose 0.48 percent to $42.20 in pre-market trading.
