Telecom giant Verizon Communications Inc. VZ is scheduled to report its fourth quarter results ahead of the market open on Tuesday.

Analyst on average expect the company to report earnings of $0.89 per share, flat with the year-ago number, on revenues of $32.09 billion, down 6.30 percent from $34.25 billion last year.

In July 2016, Verizon negotiated an agreement with Yahoo! Inc. YHOO to buy the latter's operating business for $4.83 billion in cash.

Shares of Verizon showed a lack of direction in 2016 and yet ended the year with a gain of 15.49 percent. However, since the start of 2017, the stock is down 2.21 percent.
