PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. PNC delivered better than expected EPS for the third quarter.
The company reported net income of $1.0 billion, or $1.84 a share, compared to $1.1 billion, or $1.90 a share, in the year-ago quarter. Street analysts' expected an EPS of $1.78.
PNC Financials' total revenue rose 1 percent from $3.78 billion to $3.83 billion, which is in line with the analysts' estimates.
Chairman and CEO, William Demchak, commented, "We grew revenue and managed expenses, loans and deposits increased, and capital levels were strong. Looking ahead, we continue to lay the groundwork for greater efficiencies and revenue growth to deliver positive operating leverage and create long-term shareholder value."
The stock edged up by $0.06, or 0.07 percent, to $88.00 in the pre-market trading.
