7 Stocks You Should Be Watching Today

 

Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

  • Wall Street expects Citigroup Inc C to report quarterly earnings at $1.16 per share on revenue of $17.34 billion before the opening bell. Citigroup shares rose 0.47 percent to $48.70 in after-hours trading.
  • HP Inc HPQ disclosed that it would be implementing a restructuring plan that would likely result in the firing of 3,000 to 4,000 employees, annual savings of $200 million to $300 million, and a charge of $350 million to $500 million. Management also announced a 7 percent surge in the stock’s dividend and an additional $3 million share repurchase program. The company issued its outlook for fiscal 2017, guiding for EPS of $1.55 to $1.65, mostly below the Street’s consensus of $1.64. HP shares fell 1.32 percent to $14.95 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Analysts are expecting JPMorgan Chase & Co. JPM to have earned $1.39 per share on revenue of $23.99 billion in the latest quarter. JPMorgan will release earnings before the markets open. JPMorgan shares gained 0.37 perecent to $67.99 in after-hours trading.
  • Aerohive Networks Inc HIVE reported weak preliminary results for its third quarter. The company said it expects a net loss of $(0.06) to $(0.07) per share, versus consensus at $(0.04) per share. Revenue guidance of $40 million also fell short of expectations for almost $48 million. Aerohive shares dropped 18.29 percent to $4.60 in the after-hours trading session.

  • Before the markets open, First Horizon National Corp FHN is projected to report its quarterly earnings at $0.25 per share on revenue of $327.11 million. First Horizon shares gained 4.98 percent to $15.81 in after-hours trading.
  • RSP Permian Inc RSPP disclosed that it would acquire Silver Hill Energy Partners and Silver Hill E&P II for approximately $2.4 billion – $1.25 billion in cash and 31 million shares of its common stock. In addition, management announced an offering of 20 million shares of common stock. RSP Permian shares declined 4.41 percent to $39.91 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Analysts expect Wells Fargo & Co WFC to report quarterly earnings at $1.01 per share on revenue of $22.22 billion before the opening bell. Wells Fargo shares declined 0.38 percent to $44.58 in after-hours trading.
