Health and beauty company Helen of Troy Limited HELE registered an earnings and sales beat after releasing its second quarter results after the market closed Thursday.
EPS came in at $1.31, $0.17 above analysts estimates. Revenues of $368.17 million beat by $3.07 million, despite a 0.3 percent decrease year-over-year.
Helen of Troy's housewares business grew 34.4 percent in the quarter, while its beauty segment saw a 22.3 percent decline.
"The retail environment has been weaker than expected in some of our categories and we have seen softness in Beauty and Nutritional Supplements. We are therefore lowering our net sales expectations, yet are maintaining our consolidated full year adjusted EPS outlook driven by the resiliency and strength of our diversified business model," said CEO Julien R. Mininberg.
Helen of Troy is down about 1.4 percent at $85.65 after hours.
