The Buckle, Inc. BKE disappointed investors by delivering lower than expected EPS and sales for the second quarter.
The company said it earned $15.5 million, or $0.32 a share, down from $23.5 million, or $0.49 a share, in the year-ago period. This was lower by $0.04 a share from the Street estimates of $0.36 a share.
The Buckle's net sales dipped 10.1 percent from $236.1 million to $212.2 million. Its sales were hurt by 10.8 percent drop in comparable store sales. It was lower than the analysts' predictions of $217.0 million for the same period.
On Thursday, the stock gained $0.80, or 3.06 percent, to $26.95.
