Black Diamond Misses EPS Estimates, Beats Sales

Black Diamond Inc BDE released Q2 results after market close on Monday. Earnings per share came in above Wall Street consensus expectations.

Black Diamond reported EPS of $(0.08) and revenues of $29.1 million. Analyst consensus had an EPS estimate of $(0.06) and revenues of $28.32 million.

"Our second quarter was highlighted by continued growth in our North American business and strength in our global direct-to-consumer channel," said Mark Ritchie, Black Diamond Equipment's brand president. "We also experienced low double-digit growth in our independent global distributor business, as markets like Japan and Korea have begun to replenish their inventory after a period of industry consolidation and other market headwinds."

Management noted continued foreign exchange challenges, particularly in Europe, "impacted both revenue and gross margin."

Black Diamond shares closed Monday's session at $4.22.
