Wall Street expects Mattress Firm Holding Corp (NASDAQ: MFRM) to post its quarterly earnings at $0.56 per share on revenue of $622.36 million. Mattress Firm shares gained 1.34 percent to close at $42.29 on Friday.
Sherwin-Williams Co (NYSE: SHW) agreed to acquire The Valspar Corp (NYSE: VAL) for $113 per share. Valspar shares fell 1.02 percent to close at $83.83 on Friday, while Sherwin-Williams shares rose 0.56 percent to close at $288.69 on Friday.

Analysts expect IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS) to report its quarterly earnings at $1.35 per share on revenue of $544.99 million. IHS shares rose 0.37 percent to close at $110.71 on Friday.
Origin Technologies Corporation, an entity comprised of former Affymetrix, Inc. (NASDAQ: AFFX) executives, announced Friday, that it submitted a proposal to acquire Affymetrix, Inc. for $16.10 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at approximately $1.5 billion. Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO) had offered $14.00 per share in cash for Affymetrix. However, Affymetrix announced Sunday, that it was rejecting the Origin offer in the belief that this newly formed entity would be unable to close the deal. Affymetrix shares climbed 14.05 percent to close at $15.99 on Friday.
