Earnings Recap For January 21, 2016

Southwest Airlines Co LUV was estimated to report its quarterly earnings at $0.90 per share on revenue of $5.00 billion. EPS of $0.90 came in in-line with consensus; sales of $4.977 billion, just short of expectations.

Verizon Communications Inc. VZ reported earnings of $0.89 per share, one cent above consensus, on revenue of $34.3 billion, versus expectations for $34.06 billion.

American Express Company AXP delivered EPS of $1.23, versus estimates of $1.13. Sales of $8.4 billion came in above estimates of $8.34 billion.

United Continental Holdings Inc UAL retrieved EPS of $2.54, below consensus of $2.59. Sales of $9.036 billion also fell short of the $9.08 billion estimates.

Starbucks Corporation SBUX posted EPS of $0.46, one cent above the Street’s consensus, on sales of $5.4 billion, in line with expectations.

KeyCorp KEY’s EPS came in at $0.27, $0.01 below estimates. Sales of $1.1 were in line with consensus estimates.

Alaska Air Group, Inc. ALK reported EPS of $1.46, versus an estimate of $1.40, on revenue of $1.377 billion, just slightly below consensus.

Bank of New York Mellon Corp BK delivered EPS of $0.57, which do not compare to the $0.64 estimate.

Union Pacific Corporation UNP retrieved Q4 EPS of $1.31, well below the $1.42 estimate. Sales of $5.2 billion also fell short of expectations, which called for revenue of $5.45 billion.

Travelers Companies Inc TRV reported Q4 EPS of $2.90, $0.25 above consensus, on revenue $6.674 billion – also substantially above estimates of $5.94 billion.

Schlumberger Limited. SLB delivered EPS of $0.65, $0.02 higher than expected, on sales of $7.7 billion, $100 million below consensus.

Huntington Bancshares Incorporated HBAN posted EPS of $0.21, in line with estimates.

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. ISRG announced Q4 adjusted EPS of $5.89, substantially above the $5.04 estimate. Sales of $677 million beat estimates of $655 million.

E*TRADE Financial Corp ETFC was estimated to post its quarterly earnings at $0.29 per share on revenue of $452.27 million. It reported EPS of $0.30 on sales of $454 million, instead.

PPG Industries, Inc. PPG delivered EPS of $1.23, $0.01 above consensus, on sales of $3.7 billion, $50 million below estimates.

Signature Bank SBNY’s EPS of $2.01 beat estimates of $1.93.

Webster Financial Corporation WBS’s EPS of $0.55 met expectations.

BB&T Corporation BBT reported EPS of $0.68, $0.01 below estimates, on sales of $2.6 billion, slightly above consensus of $2.57.

8x8, Inc. EGHT posted Q3 EPS of $0.05, 66.6 percent above consensus, on revenue of $53.2 million – versus estimates of $52.04 million.

ResMed Inc. RMD delivered Q2 EPS of $0.69, $0.03 better than expected, on revenue of $454.5 million – versus expectations for $446.25 million.

Maxim Integrated Products Inc. MXIM announced Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.32, in line with consensus, on sales of $511 million, almost $6 million above estimates.

Digi International Inc. DGII presented Q1 EPS of $0.11, 57 percent above estimates, on sales of $50.259 million, slightly below consensus of $50.81 million.
