US stock futures traded slightly lower in early pre-market trade, ahead of earnings from

. The Federal Open Market Committee will begin 2-day meeting today. Data on durable goods orders for September will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index for August will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. The services PMI for October will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the Consumer Confidence Index for October and the Richmond Fed's manufacturing index will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 20.5 points to 17,510.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 2.25 points to 2,060.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 7.12 points to 4,609.13.

European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index declining 0.56 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.28 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.11 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.90 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.11 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 0.14 percent and India's BSE Sensex declined 0.40 percent.
