US Stock Futures Surge Ahead Of Earnings

Pre-open movers US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade, ahead of earnings from General Motors Company GM, Boeing Co BA, eBay Inc EBAY and The Coca-Cola Co KO. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 64 points to 17,171.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 8.50 points to 2,029.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 18.38 points to 4,443.13. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.58 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.17 percent and German DAX 30 index climbing 0.77 percent. French CAC 40 Index jumped 0.58 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.40 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 1.91 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.37 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index slipped 3.06 percent and India's BSE Sensex fell 0.07 percent.
