US Stock Futures Edge Lower Ahead Of Earnings, Housing Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures traded slightly lower in early pre-market trade. Data on housing starts for September will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 13.5 points to 17,103.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 2.50 points to 2,025.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 3.50 points to 4,451.00. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 1.03 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.54 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.21 percent. French CAC 40 Index declined 0.72 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.28 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.42 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.37 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.14 percent and India's BSE Sensex fell 0.21 percent. Broker Recommendation Analysts at Credit Suisse upgraded The Fresh Market Inc TFM from Underperform to Neutral and raised the price target from $22.00 to $28.00.
