Let’s take a look at Thursday’s after-hours movers.
Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN is the biggest winner on Thursday evening. After tumbling 1.25 percent during the day, the stock is up roughly 18 percent in after-hours after the company completely surprised investors and analysts with its second quarter results.
Earnings came in at $0.19 per share on revenue of $23.185 billion, while the Street was modeling a consensus net loss of ($0.15) on sales of $22.308 billion. Moreover, the company had guided revenue of $21.7 billion, well bellow the actual figure.
Also rising after making public its quarterly financial results is Starbucks Corporation SBUX, which is up almost 6 percent, to $59.80, on late-Thursday. The company reported earnings of $0.42 per share, one cent above consensus and guidance, on revenue of $4.881.
Another stock surging on earnings is Visa Inc V, which rose more than 7 percent since the bell rang. The global payments leader announced earnings of $0.74 per share on sales of $3.518 billion, comfortably beating consensus expectations for earnings of $0.59 per share and revenue of $3.365 billion.
Pandora Media Inc P, for its part, is up more than 11 percent after a flat day. The Internet radio services provider surpassed the Street’s estimates for earnings of $0.03 per share on revenue of $283.26 million, reporting earnings of $0.05 per share on sales of $285.56 million.
Skyworks Solutions Inc SWKS rose 3.49 percent during the day, ahead of the announcement of its third quarter results, and an extra 2.8 percent after reporting earnings of $1.34 per share on revenue of $810 million. Consensus stood at $1.28 per share and $801.73 million.
