FuelCell Energy Inc's FCEL fourth-quarter revenue out performance lifted its shares more than 4 percent Tuesday.
The company's $54.4 million in fourth-quarter revenue posted Monday beat Wall Street's expectations by 2 percent while its loss of $0.02 a share was in line with views.
In the recent third quarter, revenue was $43.2 million with a loss of $0.03 a share.
Chief Executive Arthur A. Bottone said the company's products "are more competitive and affordable compared to bids we were submitting just last year," adding that this, along with the company's growing reputation, "has led to a high level of activity."
FuelCell changed hands recently at $1.61, up 4.4 percent.
Competitor Plug Power Inc PLUG traded at $2.79, up 0.72 percent Tuesday afternoon, while Ballard Power Systems Inc. (USA) BLDP was up 1.1 percent at $1.74.
