Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV BUD reported a rise in its second quarter profit.
The Leuven, Belgium-based company posted a quarterly net profit of $2.6 billion, up 74% versus the year-ago profit of $1.5 billion. Its EPS surged 72% to $1.60 from $0.93.
Its revenue climbed 5% on an organic basis to $12.2 billion.
Its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization climbed 9.5% to $4.85 billion.
Total volumes rose by 1% in the second quarter, with own beer volumes rising 0.5% and non-beer volumes surging 5.8%.
US sales to wholesalers declined 3.4% in the quarter, while sales to retailers dropped 1%.
AB InBev's sales in Brazil jumped 7.6% in the quarter, driven by World Cup sales.
AB InBev shares fell 0.01% to close at $109.68 yesterday.
