China Eastern Airlines Posts Drop In 2013 Profit

reported a 25% drop in its 2013 net profit. China Eastern Airlines' net profit for the year slipped to 2.38 billion Chinese yuan (US$387 million), versus a year-ago net profit of 3.17 billion yuan. However, analysts were expecting a profit of 2.39 billion yuan. The company's revenue climbed 1.9% to 88.01 billion yuan versus 86.41 billion yuan. China Eastern Airlines shares closed at $16.50 yesterday.
