Sysco (NYSE: SYY) reported a drop in its fiscal second-quarter earnings.

Sysco's quarterly net earnings fell to $210.8 million, or $0.36 per share, from a year-ago profit of $221.4 million, or $0.38 per share. Its adjusted earnings came in at $0.40 per share.

Its sales rose to $11.2 billion from $10.8 billion. However, analysts were estimating earnings of $0.40 per share on sales of $11.35 billion.

Sysco shares fell 0.06% to $35.13 in pre-market trading.
