NextEra Energy NEE reported a 24% drop in its fourth-quarter earnings.
NextEra Energy's quarterly profit fell to $327 million, or $0.75 per share, from a year-ago profit of $429 million, or $1.02 per share. Excluding one-time items, its adjusted earnings dropped to $0.95 from $1.03 per share.
Its revenue rose 7.6% to $3.63 billion. However, analysts were estimating a profit of $0.97 per share on revenue of $3.85 billion.
Its total operating expenses climbed 13%.
NextEra Energy shares closed at $86.89 yesterday.
