Air Products & Chemicals (NYSE: APD) reported a 4.3% rise in its fiscal first-quarter earnings.

Air Products expects Q2 earnings of $1.32 to $1.37 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $1.44 per share.

Air Products posted its quarterly earnings of $290.2 million, or $1.35 per share, from a year-ago profit of $278.3 million, or $1.33 per share. The company had earlier expected earnings of $1.30 to $1.35 per share.

Its sales declined to $2.55 billion from $2.56 billion, versus estimates of $2.57 billion.

Air Products shares closed at $106.24 yesterday.
