UPDATE: Jones Group Q3 Profit Surges 68%

Jones Group

reported a 68% rise in its third-quarter earnings. Jones Group's quarterly profit surged to $29.3 million, or $0.38 per share, from $17.4 million, or $0.22 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, it earned $0.48 per share. Its revenue fell 1.3% to $1.02 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.42 per share on revenue of $1.04 billion. Jones Group shares closed at $15.32 yesterday.
