UPDATE: Colgate-Palmolive Posts Rise In Q3 Profit

reported a rise in its third-quarter earnings. Colgate-Palmolive's quarterly profit gained to $656 million, or $0.70 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $654 million, or $0.68 per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Its adjusted earnings climbed to $0.73 per share. Its revenue rose 1.5% to $4.4 billion from $4.3 billion. However, analysts were estimating adjusted earnings of $0.73 per share on revenue of $4.5 billion. Colgate-Palmolive shares closed at $63.47 yesterday.
