Shares of Outerwall (NASDAQ: OUTR) jumped more than 8% in after-hours trading after Jana Partners LLC disclosed a major stake in the company. Outerwall shares surged 8.84% to $62.15 in the after-hours trading session.
J.P. Morgan slashed its Q3 earnings estimate for Alcoa (NYSE: AA) to $0.05 per share from $0.12 per share. Alcoa shares rose 0.50% to $8.00 in the after-hours trading session.
Wall Street expects Tower Group International (NASDAQ: TWGP) to post a Q3 loss at $1.04 per share on revenue of $428.87 million. Tower Group shares declined 2.36% to $7.45 in after-hours trading.
Jefferies upgraded Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) from Hold to Buy and lifted its price target from $425 to $600. Apple shares rose 0.01% to $483.08 in after-hours trading.
Shares of Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) gained 3.78% on Friday after the company announced its plans to introduce advertisements over its Instagram service. Facebook shares fell 0.06% to $51.01 in after-hours trading.
