AGL Energy Posts Rise In Annual Profit

AGL Energy AGLNY reported a surge in its annual profit. AGL's net profit for the year climbed to 388.7 million Australian dollars (US$349.0 million), versus a year-ago profit of A$114.9 million. Its underlying profit climbed 24% to A$598.3 million. AGL Energy closed at $12.78 yesterday.
