Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) announced its plans to acquire Onyx Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ONXX) for $10.4 billion. Onyx shares rose 0.89% to $118.00 in the after-hours trading session, while Amgen shares gained 0.11% to $105.72 in after-hours trading.
Shares of Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) jumped 7.29% on Friday after the company reported that its CEO Ballmer will step down within the next 12 months. Microsoft shares gained 0.03% to $34.76 in the after-hours trading session.
Wall Street expects Amira Nature Foods (NYSE: ANFI) to post its Q1 earnings at $0.10 per share on revenue of $98.84 million. Amira shares rose 0.27% to close at $7.49 on Friday.
Micrel (NASDAQ: MCRL) announced the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer Ray Wallin. Micrel shares gained 0.61% to close at $9.94 on Friday.
Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE: APC) announced its plans to sell a 10% stake in Mozambique gas field to ONGC Videsh Ltd, a unit of India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, for $2.64 billion in cash. Anadarko shares rose 0.60% to $89.80 in after-hours trading.
