UPDATE: Burger King Q2 Net Profit Rises 30%

Burger King Worldwide BKW reported a 30% rise in its second-quarter profit. Burger King's quarterly net income surged to $62.9 million, or $0.18 per share, versus $48.2 million, or $0.14 per share, in the year-ago period. Burger King's overall sales declined 48.5% to $278.3 million. Its global sales at established restaurants climbed 0.6%, versus analysts' expectations for a 0.1% decline. Burger King shares closed at $19.54 yesterday.
