UPDATE: Humana Posts Rise In Q2 Profit, Lifts Outlook

Humana HUM reported an 18% rise in its second-quarter profit. Humana's quarterly net income surged to $420 million, or $2.63 per share, from $356 million, or $2.16 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed to $9.7 billion from $9.2 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $10.3 billion. Humana lifted its full-year earnings view to $8.65 to $8.75 per share. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $8.68 per share. Humana shares closed at $89.26 yesterday.
