Stocks To Watch For July 5, 2013

Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are: Spherix SPEX announced the resignation of its CFO Robert Clayton. Spherix shares gained 1.30% to close at $5.47 on Wednesday. Shares of EXCO Resources XCO jumped 8.20% on Wednesday after the company announced a $1 billion acquisition of assets in the Eagle Ford and Haynesville shales. EXCO shares closed at $8.05 on Wednesday. TransDigm Group TDG reported that its board declared a special dividend of $22 per share. TransDigm shares gained 1.34% to close at $153.70 on Wednesday. Shares of Mead Johnson Nutrition MJN tumbled lost 8.08% on Wednesday after China announced a probe investigating the company over baby formula price-fixing. Goldman Sachs also downgraded the stock from “buy” to “neutral.” Mead Johnson shares closed at $68.85 on Wednesday. Shares of Linn Energy LINE dipped 15.75% on Wednesday as the Securities and Exchange Commission announced an informal inquiry into the company on Tuesday. Linn Energy shares closed at $22.79 on Wednesday.
