posted a loss in the fourth quarter. Hartford Financial posted a quarterly loss of $46 million, or $0.13 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $118 million, or $0.23 per share. Its core earnings declined to $0.54 per share from $0.61 per share. Hartford Financial in November expected core earnings of $0.77 to $0.82 per share. Its revenue climbed 37% to $7.74 billion. For 2013, Hartford Financial projects core earnings of $1.38 billion to $1.48 billion, versus $1.4 billion in 2012. Hartford Financial shares declined 0.65% to $24.54 in after-hours trading.
